You can apply online to see if you meet the requirements to receive these cash grants to help with living expenses.

Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) – If you need help paying your utility bills you may be able to get assistance from this program. LEAP offers grants for disabled in Colorado, as well as for those who meet the low income requirements. If you are approved for the grant it will be paid directly to your utility provider on your behalf. This is a great program that will pay for home heating costs for those who need the help.

Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) – This program will provide grants to help people with their water and sewer services. If you are at risk for getting your water or sewer services disconnected you can also get emergency grant assistance from this program. This will keep the services turned on and avoid any types of disruption.

Colorado Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) – This program provides grants for disabled in Colorado to help with paying your rent. You can get up to 15 months worth of assistance to help bring your rent current and help you get ahead. They will pay for two months of rent ahead of time. Additionally, they offer an emergency mortgage assistance program for those who may be at risk for losing their home to foreclosure. You will have to provide documentation that shows you have a low income.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) – This program provides grants for disabled in Colorado to help purchase food. If you need help buying food, you will be able to get a debit card from them and use it to pay for your groceries. The maximum grant that a family can receive per month is $835. The amount of grant you receive depends on the number of dependents living in your home.
